Travel insurance isn’t just for international travel. It can be very important for travel within Australia because anything can happen while on holiday. Our policies come with some limitations (including sub-limits) on what is and isn’t covered. This travel resource breaks down travel insurance exclusions and isn’t covered with your policy. For example, in order to use the travel delay benefit, your flight must be delayed for more than 6 hours. If a claim was filed under the travel delay benefit but you were only delayed for 3 hours, this would not be covered.
Domestic insurance does NOT provide cover for medical expenses, but our flexible plan can cover trip cancellations or interruptions, travel delays, personal liability, luggage and personal effects, delayed baggage, and rental vehicle excess.
Yes, our single-trip international travel insurance plan does provide cover for these. Note that our domestic travel insurance plan does not include medical evacuation cover. Learn more about medical evacuation cover here.
Excess is the amount of money you’ll contribute in the event of a claim. The excess amount for your policy is per person, per claim.
