Our policies come with some limitations (including sub-limits) on what is and isn’t covered. This travel resource breaks down travel insurance exclusions and what isn’t covered with your policy. For example, in order to use the travel delay benefit, your flight must be delayed for more than 6 hours. If a claim was lodged under the travel delay benefit but you were only delayed for 3 hours, this would not be covered.

Domestic insurance does NOT provide cover for medical expenses, but our flexible plan can cover trip cancellations or disruptions, travel delays, personal liability, luggage and personal effects, delayed baggage, and rental vehicle excess.

Yes, our single-trip international plan does provide cover for these. Medical evacuations are eligible for cover in an emergency or if it is deemed medically necessary for you or someone covered on your policy to be evacuated to a more adequate medical facility or in some cases back home. Note that our domestic travel insurance plan does not include medical evacuation cover. Learn more about medical evacuation cover here.
